Some times you do not know what you have done, but everything goes wrong… I am pretty sure everybody (is there anybody still reading?!) knows what I am talking about!
1. Law number 1: who zipped my zip files?
Some people sent me emails to say they cannot dowload iCal4WP as well as my SLD to make Google Maps look-like maps with Geoserver or any other apps. It seems that for one reason those zip files disapear from my server. I will update them asap, and to get your forgiveness I will make a small update to ical4wp (bug fixes) provided by Roger and maybe a widget part as well since another one as work on it (if I can get the code in time).
2. Law number 2: I love Mac…when I have one
I’ve got 2 Mac, one iMac G5 and one MacBook…both of them decided to take some leave without previous notice. I guess I make them work very hard, sometimes running several days non-stop. But what? That’s supposed to be there life and their role in my life, isn’t it, Mr Apple?
For whatever reason, both of them stop whenever they are tired (sudden shutdown). The good news is that MacOS, like Linux, will not mixed-up my harddisk and so my VID (Very Important Data). For the MacBook it seems to be a known problems and, hopefully, will solve it quickly (some time I like to dream…) but for my iMac G5… who knows… Even my wife starts to complain about Apple, although she enjoys very much to use it…when it is at home.
Why I am telling that? Simply because all my work is in it, so I am stuck for the timebeing.
3. Law Number 3: Travels are bad for developers.
Actually, I love travelling. I usually enjoy meeting people around and talking about project. For my job I am going quite often to East-Timor to develop a simple billing system for utilities (water and electricity)…but more on this later when I’ll have some time to clean the code and make it open source in case others are interested. I like Timor, it’s beautiful, still not infected by the touristica virus and I feel a little bit useful working there. But, internet connection is far to be good there (unless you are working for the World Bank!!!) and not cheap at all. Since I am leaving in a few days, I will not have much slot time to work to fix those problems with zip files.
Guys,as I said earlier, stay tuned. Thank you to all of those who post comments and even sent fixes and new features. I will update everything on the 3rd week of October when I am back from Timor.
I would love to get iCal for WordPress, but as you mentioned in your posting, I cannot get access to the file.
Can you send the zip file to me, or let me know when it is available?
Thanks!
Alistair
